- Local stock arrives from November 2026 with manual and dual clutch options.
- Pricing is unconfirmed and Hyundai has announced no mechanical changes.

Hyundai will bring just 200 examples of the new i30 Sedan N Monochrome to Australia, with the special edition reaching showrooms from November 2026. Revealed today, it replaces the regular car’s contrasting accents with a body coloured, monochromatic finish, and buyers can choose a manual or a dual clutch automatic.
Australian pricing has not been announced. Hyundai says price and more local details will follow closer to launch.
Hyundai says the edition is a response to customers who wanted a less showy version of the i30 Sedan N. The treatment moves attention away from bright colour and onto the car’s shape, materials and detailing.
What’s new on the i30 Sedan N Monochrome

The changes are limited to styling and trim:
- Wheels: newly designed forged alloys
- Exterior: body coloured details, revised front and rear bumpers, side sills, brake callipers and rear diffuser
- Carbon fibre: rear spoiler and mirrors
- Interior: an Alcantara steering wheel unique to the Monochrome with black finished buttons, plus Alcantara on selected cabin surfaces
Two paint colours are offered: Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue.
Engine and gearbox
Hyundai hasn’t announced any changes under the bonnet. The current i30 Sedan N uses a turbocharged 2.0 litre four cylinder petrol engine making 206kW and 392Nm, which drives the front wheels through a six speed manual or an eight speed dual clutch automatic.
Its main rivals in Australia are the all wheel drive Subaru WRX sedan and the Honda Civic Type R hatch, which is sold only as a manual.
Australian availability
Australia is one of the first three markets for the Monochrome, along with South Korea and Canada. Korean sales start in late October, and Hyundai plans to add more markets later.
Our 200 cars will include both manuals and automatics. Hyundai hasn’t said how many of each.
Hyundai Australia is expected to confirm pricing and the manual and automatic split before the first cars arrive in November. With only 200 coming, anyone keen on one should talk to us here at The Beep.
