Key takeaways
- Mazda3 starts at $31,910 and CX-30 at $34,760 before on-road costs
- 10.25-inch touchscreen and wireless CarPlay now standard across both ranges
- CX-30 all-wheel drive is now limited to the $49,460 G25 Astina
Mazda has updated the CX-30 small SUV and Mazda3 hatch and sedan in Australia, adding a larger touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and improved autonomous emergency braking. The CX-30 also gains two new grades, the G25 Evolve SP and G25 GT.
Both models are on sale now, with deliveries starting later in October. The Mazda3 now starts at $31,910 before on-road costs, up $300, while the CX-30 opens at $34,760, up $400.
What’s new in the Mazda CX-30
The CX-30 still offers 12 variants, but the mix has changed. The G20 Touring LE, G25 Touring and all-wheel-drive GT SP have been dropped, leaving the G25 Astina as the only AWD option. It costs $49,460, $2000 more than the front-drive Astina.
That’s a big step for buyers who want AWD in a small SUV.

The new G25 Evolve SP ($42,360) is now the most affordable way into the 139kW/252Nm 2.5-litre engine. It adds 18-inch gloss-black alloys with matching mirror caps, roof rails and badges, plus black cloth seats with red stitching.
The G25 GT ($45,360) goes the other way, with silver 18-inch wheels and exterior trim, black leather, heated front seats, a 10-way power driver’s seat and a sunroof.
The biggest gains are at the entry level. Pure, Evolve and Touring grades previously used an 8.8-inch non-touch screen.
CX-30 equipment changes
- Infotainment: 10.25-inch Mazda Connect touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard across the range
- Convenience: keyless entry and push-button start standard, roof rails on every grade except the Pure
- Lighting: LED daytime running lights replace halogens, while the Astina gains glare-free high beam
- Safety: AEB now detects motorcycles, head-on collisions and turning across traffic, with intersection collision avoidance on every grade
- Vision Technology pack: standard on all G25 models, adding a 360-degree camera with see-through view, driver monitoring, front parking sensors, traffic jam assist and front cross-traffic braking
- Seats: ventilated front seats on the GT SP and Astina, with white and grey Maztex trim in the GT SP
- Paint: Zinc Green Metallic from the MX-5 is a $595 option, Aero Grey joins the palette, and Ceramic and Zircon Sand are dropped

The Vision pack remains a $2000 option on G20 Pure and Evolve grades.
Rivals include the Honda HR-V from $32,900 driveaway and the Hyundai Kona from $33,950 before on-roads.

Mazda3 changes
The Mazda3 update is smaller, with no design changes. The G20 Pure and Evolve swap their 8.8-inch non-touch screen for the 10.25-inch touchscreen, and the Pure gains wireless phone mirroring to match the rest of the range.

The upgraded AEB system also carries over from the CX-30, and Aero Grey is added as a new colour.
Prices rise between $200 and $300, and the Mazda3 still undercuts the Kia K4 at $32,090 and the Toyota Corolla hybrid hatch at $32,585.
